I guess this is the beginning of my blogging experience. I haven't decided what I want this blog to be, but for now it will be a journal/scrapbook I guess. Beginner steps right? You would laugh at me if you knew how long this took me to figure all of this out!
Anyway, things are great here, as usual. We are in the process of finishing our basement right now. I think it's going to be awhile, but it's been really fun watching it come together. It will be nice having the extra space. We feel so fortunate to always seem to have connections to get us what we want or need. I guess it's just one more thing to be grateful about.
Right now what I'm just sitting here thinking about how differently things have turned out from our original plan when we got married. We were going to wait 5 years to have kids, and our loans were going to be paid off. I pictured us getting pregnant, house hunting, and then decking out the baby's room and anxiously await his arrival. Yeah right. 3 years and 2 kids later, things are definitely different than I pictured - but better than I could ever have imagined. Every day I wake up so happy I think I am going to burst, and somehow, when the next day comes, I am even happier still. I feel so grateful for our lives thus far. Although it's have been different than I pictured, I know it's made me the person I am today.
Not that things are easy. Do you know what it's like to be around a baby and a toddler that haven't taken their naps for over a week? Not always the most pleasant experience. But, considering, they have done really well. They are teaching me once again, the importance of a good, consistent routine. Thus far, that is probably the best parenting tool there is. Thanks to my mom for teaching me that.
